Reporting to the Director, Facilities Services, the Facilities Management Specialist oversees the day-to-day operations of Bank properties to ensure a safe and reliable work environment that supports business needs and meets service level expectations. Focus is on managing relationships with third party vendors, internal clients and other internal contacts, acting with diplomacy and courtesy and relying on strong communication skills. The Facilities Management Specialist consults with Bank stakeholders, when required such as when scheduling disruptive work or seeking feedback on services delivered.


  • oversee third party service provider’s delivery of facilities management services at Bank properties
  •  investigate problems, understand the root cause of the issue and solve it as quickly as possible, while maintaining a good relationship with the service provider and the clients
  • monitor third party programs and work activities to ensure that quality and performance standards are met
  • effectively manage relationships with internal clients by diffusing situations, solving problems, being diplomatic in negotiations, building comprises where possible, and being aware of and managing internal risks
  • review and approve unbudgeted expenditures by third parties
  • approve notices of work and building activities

  • Expect from us:The salary range for this position is typically $87,345 to $101,903 (job grade 17)
  • Performance pay for successfully meeting or exceeding expectations (7 to 10% or 15% of your salary, respectively)

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or in another relevant field and a minimum of ten years of progressively more responsible and relevant experience in facilities management, including experience managing a portfolio of buildings of similar size and complexity
  • an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

  • Highly developed interpersonal and relationship management skills
  •  strong customer-focus, with the proven ability to create win-win scenarios and use diplomacy to balance customer requests with overall Bank priorities
  • proven ability to plan strategically to meet evolving demands over the medium term
  • strong analytical skills used to identify, evaluate and recommend effective solutions and alternatives to resolve client conflicts and issues and to provide recommendations related to processes and policies
  • ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders
  • ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines while working on multiple tasks – often under pressure with shifting priorities
  • an effective communicator who encourages mutual understanding, open and respectful dialogue and feedback
  • ability to initiate change and champion continuous improvement opportunities, and to encourage flexibility and innovation while balancing risk

  • Must be eligible for reliability status
  • English and French essential
  • Linguistic requirement (minimum starting level): functional in second official language (training may be provided to help the selected candidate reach the required level of fully functional)
